Easy Chicken Parmesan Casserole Recipe

This Chicken Parmesan Bubble Up is one of our favorite meals for busy weeknights. All the flavors of chicken parm without all of the frying! Chicken, marinara sauce, and mozzarella tossed with biscuits and baked. All you need is a side salad and you have a meal that is better than any Italian restaurant!

What does Bubble Up mean?

Bubble up refers to casseroles made with refrigerated biscuits. The biscuits bubble up when they are baked. I’ve made several bubble up casseroles for the blog – pizza, peach cobbler, and even an enchilada bubble up casserole. They are all fantastic.

How to Make Chicken Parmesan Bubble-Up Casserole with Biscuits

This casserole is great to make with only a few simple ingredients. Open two cans of refrigerated biscuits. Cut each biscuit into four pieces and place in a large mixing bowl. Add frozen popcorn chicken, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Season with salt and pepper, if desired. Stir to coat all ingredients in the pasta sauce. Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Transfer the chicken mixture to the prepared casserole dish. Top the chicken and biscuits with more mozzarella cheese and grated parmesan cheese. Bake in a preheated oven until the biscuits are cooked through. Garnish the casserole with parsley or fresh basil before cutting it into slices.
